The Institutions of higher learning have been forever envisaged to cater Knowledge-cum-information enriched education to the educational aspirants.Pub Majuli College was established with that very vision in mind and till today it has been engrossed in that very mission by extending the light of education to all sections of the society. Pub Majuli College is the only premier educational institution which input social science education at higher level to the people of the entire Pub Majuli area of Majuli District since its inception in 1990 with a
view to develop human resources for overall improvement of the economically backward and geographically isolated region. Yet this region is lagging and bagging behind the rest of the country mainly due to devastating flood, erosion, lack of Communication and transportation and lack of available technology for up-gradation of the available resource. Academic upliftment and necessary competence to the growing generation enabling them to avail employment opportunity and to introduce themselves with the advance scientific world so that they can keep pace with the complex development around them, extension of Women education etc, are the major considerations addressed by goals and objectives.The College follows a sincere and systematic teaching procedure which is turn attracting meritorious students through the decades and the output contributes its growth as a remarkable centre of higher education.
Pub Majuli College stresses on the need to accommodate itself with the basic facilities and proper infrastructure to create a congenital academic atmosphere. The facilities of Library, Women Hostel , any time power supply, hygienic drinking water supply, free Wi-Fi to all to keep the world in their fingers, Cheap Canteen Facility and simultaneous education facility through the Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University and other support services like NSS, Scouts & Guide also offered to the Students. More than 12000 books and some important relevant Journals and periodicals are available in the College Library. The College has got permanent affiliation from Dibrugarh University for Major and General Courses and the University Grants Commission has also recognized the Institution under the Sections 2(f) & 12B Under UGC Act,1956. Recognizing the Sacrifice and dedications of the Governing Body, Teachers and Employees and the local people related to the establishment, Govt.of Assam finally provincialised the College in August,2013 under the Assam Venture Institutions (Provincialisation of Services)Act,2011 as amended in 2012 & 2013. Pub Majuli College has already Started the Study Centre of K.K.Handiqui State Open University Since 2008 with the Programme BA(Major/General), BMC, B.COM, BCA, BBA, BPP and Master Degree Programmes in Assamese, Sociology and Political Science. The Centre also offered 2 years D.El.Ed Programme to the Teachers of Upper Primary and Lower Primary level on deputation basis.
The College family has undertaken certain initiative in academic side particularly in students admission in BA 1st Semester and encourage to BPL, Differently able and Meritorious Students of Majuli District from the Previous Session.
